◊ This is more prosetry (prose+poetry) than straight out poetry, and the subject is very close to my heart. For some extreme feminists these might be fighting words, but frankly…I don’t care.- X
There is a secret
And it whispers in the chest of every man we’ve ever loved
Ever hurt or pushed aside
It is they who have that emptiness that aches to be filled
That is how they were made
They wouldn’t be as beautiful without that flaw
We, the strong ones,
The descendants of her who tempted the guileless Adam
Out of paradise then into another,
Must find the strength inherent in us all
Let go of the hubris that has damaged us
Made us a worldful of brittle, spoiled beings who believe only we are worthy of tenderness
Wounded
we walk around, blind and starving
Bumping up against the very table that is laden with the makings of a feast,
enough for everyone
Forever
for love is everlasting
I want to penetrate him so much deeper than he can ever penetrate me
Bury myself deep inside his soft underbelly
Surround myself with him, fragrant and warm
Sticky with the sweetness he has saved just for me
I want him to wash the filth that others have left on my skin with his sacred sweat,
baptize me, make me clean enough to deserve to be let inside his temple
Ximena,
this speaks to me at a very deep level, love it.
I have very little for the shrill, bra burning feminist, they do their gender no favours at all.
Warm hugs,
Paul.
This is beautiful and powerful Ximena. This: “I want to penetrate him so much deeper than he can ever penetrate me…”
Yes. That is all.

i’m only feminist enough to feel i should get equal pay for equal work…as to what you’ve written here?
spoken right to my heart.

Really beautiful. Truth-telling. Actually very respectful. And I appreciate the reverence you have for the human condition. The feminists I know would love this “Prosetry” .
