Do your balls get heavy? she asks. Is your cock full of come when it gets hard, she asks, literally? Does everything feel like it’s going to burst? Do you need a place to put it all? Does it make you just want to fuck? No matter what? What’s it like? Is it a relief?

I really, really like this one…but I don’t quite know exactly why

That made me laugh. I so often write these at the end of the day and struggling to stay awake. Many of them are just stream of consciousness—I write them and I don’t quite know exactly why. =)

I know why I like it. In any event, please keep on writing them, Will. My inbox says I’ve got something like 325 of yours waiting to be read. I’ll get there. Eventually.

NaNoWriMo effort stalled at the moment, even if I hit the 50K target ahead of schedule. Still 2/3 to go. Cheers.

365 is my goal — one year’s worth. What’s your NaNoWriMo project? I’ve never actually gotten involved in that whole scene.

It’s write 50K words in one month, November. The result in my case, and I think for most folks, is 50K, er, words, to be polite about it. Editing is prohibited, honor system, of course. I know for myself if I start to think about Writing, i.e., pacing, character development, show don’t goddam tell, I’m dead. So I don’t, and the product at the end of 30 days reflects that.

In this case I’m keying off a telenovela my spouse and I got hooked on—”Velvet,” set in Spain in the 1950s, Romeo and Juliet-ish, romance across class boundaries, the whole nine yards. Potboiler, but fun. Plus good Spanish practice. Anyway, I managed to work in a Hollywood-ish rain festival plus human sacrifice plus orgy—you know, the usual—into it, which was fun. But I’ve been stuck on how to make the whole thing play out.

Anyway, more than you probably wanted to know, but I’ve found these 30-day things a lot of fun.

      Cheers,
      JBB

Write without editing? More than enough rope to hang myself—a tree and a horse too. Good luck. :)

Oh, that’s me hangin’ from the old oak tree, no question. The editing comes later. For most people if you stop to edit you’ll never hit 50K, the magic number for a “novel” (perhaps a novella by current standards). But if you’ve got a really really fast editing pencil …

Correction: 1/3 to go. It’s not that bad.
