Oh! This one grabbed me! What perfect imagery. Love it. .. that pause. The blink. The smile. Her little knowing grin. Geezuz Will! It’s a movie told in 11 words. Bravo.

This is fascinating. Usually the sock is the murderer of desire. I’m sitting here imagining a person I find mouth watering, in socks. Sorry, can’t be done. He has become a normal garden variety man, in socks. Not mouthwatering at all.
    Perhaps it’s a guy thing?
Or perhaps Nilla is right. It’s all in the timing.

I agree, Anonymous, a guy in socks and dress is kind of a buzzkill, though I probably wouldn’t call him garden variety.

Or Scottish, I should have written, but levity aside (because erotica is serious business) I could have written “dress and high heels” or “dress and a tattoo”. I like that latter one, as it implies that maybe he should go looking for it.

What I like about socks is exactly the reason you were kind’a like “Huh?”. Those “girls”, the ones that never figured out the whole CFM look, can be full of surprises. Sweet. Comfy in their buzzkill pajamas. And fun as hell in bed. The gal in the haiku. Maybe she’s wearing some clunky black glasses cuz’ she’s near-sighted and isn’t all that good with makeup but, you know, she’s trying.

Has the disadvantage that it doesn’t draw the reader’s imagintion to her legs (and all the goodies associated with a woman’s legs) but sends the same message. She’s trying. =)

So, I’m embarrassed to say, but I had to consult Urban Dictionary for “CFM.” Must be a phrase used more by guys. Like “DSL.” Had to ask my husband about that one. Haha :)

  4. stephaniesubmits says:

As for DSL, yes, he knew that one for sure(!) And CFM he was like “Um, I don’t know…something-fuck-me?” He said he’s out of touch with a lot of the new acronyms (ya’ know, because he’s “old”).
