Imminence

May 21, 2010

The following is as set of five gogyohka, which are five line poems, introduced to me on Twitter. -M

You’re beautiful in sleep
still, quiet, unhurried, unharried
I stand over you, sometimes
more often than you know
just watching

Sometimes
you fill me with your peace
I can walk away a saner man
or climb in
join you in rest

Sometimes
you instill in me other things
I look down at you thinking of potential
feeling imminence
the gathering of clouds

Endless possibility
it spins out around us
the air thick with it
hair raising
the building of charge

The moment of selection
when the possible
condenses into the inevitable
potential becomes intention
all before even touching you

i loved the thoughtfulness of this piece. i could sense him/you just standing, finding that quiet place and building from it. “Potential becomes inevitable”…gawd i love that…

    another beautifully haunting piece, Monocle.

We are very vulnerable in our sleep. To be looked at lovingly during that time doubly warms the heart.
